Albana is a dreamlike grape variety, truly one of a kind. It was the first grape variety to receive DOC status in Italy and has deep roots in history.
According to tradition, the daughter of Emperor Theodosius I once tasted this wine from a rough terracotta bowl and exclaimed that such a noble wine deserved to be drunk from golden chalices: “You are worthy of being drunk in gold.” This is said to have given the place its name: Bertinoro.
On the nose, it immediately recalls spring, with white flowers and white fruits. Its nuances fill the nose with a continuous and pleasant succession of delicate shades.
On the palate, it is balanced, beautifully fragrant, long and enjoyable. It is excellent as an aperitif, but also pairs well with white meats and pizza bianca.
