Sangiovese in the land of Romagna: one of the most beautiful expressions of a grape variety that is too often associated only with Tuscany.
One legend tells that the origins of this grape’s cultivation can be traced back to a monastery on Colle Giove, in Santarcangelo di Romagna.
What remains certain is that Romagna Sangiovese expresses itself differently from its Tuscan cousin.
Its aromas are fresh and fruity, with red fruit, sour cherry and delicate balsamic notes.
On the palate, it is direct, long and pleasantly drinkable, with a full flavour. It pairs excellently with lightly seared red meats and is especially suited to game. When enjoyed with a good porchetta, it truly gives its best.
